We grew up respecting nature. We grew up loving animals. We grew up feeding giraffes, watering hippos, riding horses and doting on the joey in the pouch of our mum’s apron. We grew up with an innate appreciation of the beautiful world around us, which just so happened to be an exotic wildlife sanctuary in the heart of the Northern Territory.
This far-from-typical, wild and wonderful start in life instilled in us, two conscientious sisters, a keen understanding of nature’s give and take, and our own obligation to give when we take.
The problem.
We Cool was born to balance our own waste footprints: Pippa, as the owner of hospitality businesses, and Louisa, a working mum of two young kids. We were acutely conscious of the waste we generated in the daily course of running a business, parenting and living life. We looked for ways to reduce our impact, and found simple solutions in short supply. Convoluted with carbon jargon or tricky transparency, the options on offer felt cold and confusing.
We felt compelled to create something simpler, clearer and more achievable.
